The day after Stephen Colbert's show was cancelled, he went on community access television and did an episode with Jeff Daniels, Jack White, Eminem and others.

that stephen colbert show on community access TV is great btw, it's a bit mad and very lo-fi and funny
moments include getting drunk on air, and huffing helium on air
@GossiTheDog Sometimes I can't tell if Jack was disinterested or just a little too convincing. lol
@GossiTheDog It's amazing that he went directly from a high budget to a low budget show and managed to execute it perfectly. It's funny in a way only a low budget show can be.
@GossiTheDog He is now free from the shackels of CBS and the FCC. I'm waiting for him to "go wild".
@GossiTheDog it’s what YouTube needs to be
@GossiTheDog Maybe he'll run for president again. This year happens to be a particularly good year for that, since none of the major parties' candidates are running this year.
@GossiTheDog That’s the thing Trump never learns. When a voice is removed from one controlled platform, it has the freedom to be totally unrestrained on other platforms.
@HarriettMB @GossiTheDog Absolutely this. His arrogance/narcissism’s voices are so loud he can’t hear the adult voice in his head. But then I’m crediting him for having one.

@GossiTheDog
While I object to any show being canceled for political reasons, I lost all respect for Colbert after contrasting his interviews of Mamdani and Slotkin.

Mamdani was aggressively and relentlessly pressed on his opinions of Israel, while CIA Slotkin was given the friendly, softball, puff piece treatment.

Colbert may not have caved to Trump, but he certainly caved to the Israel lobby and the right wing Democratic establishment.

Jon Stewart Was So Much Better at Interviewing Zohran Mamdani Than Stephen Colbert

Back in June, the month before Stephen Colbert would find out that The Late Show would be cancelled by CBS, Colbert sat down with New York City mayoral...

@freediverx @GossiTheDog
Colbert is vocally Catholic, I wonder how much of his bias is driven by the End Times-mythos common in Christianity.
@forpeterssake @GossiTheDog
He’s never struck me as a deeply religious person. He’s just another bourgeois liberal.
@freediverx @GossiTheDog
I really don't know what his personal theology is like, he just brings it up a lot.
@forpeterssake @freediverx @GossiTheDog the end times stupid shit is very Protestant/Charismatic coded. There are fake converts like Vance (who is a Charismatic pretending to be Catholic) who might be like that, but 100% of the breathless loonies I've met who need Bibi to start WWIII are Charismatics.
@GossiTheDog this is a great way to start the day
@GossiTheDog
I used to think Colbert never lived up to Dave Letterman. I was wrong.
@GossiTheDog Do you know the original interview with Eminem? It's the funniest interview I've ever watched.

Move over Bob Ross, there's a new kid in town 😁

I'd love to watch a #Colbert Report, live-streamed from #Michigan or wherever.

Only In Monroe --- May 22, 2026

I watched the whole thing, including the credits. Knew that Colbert would make even the credits worth watching! Not disappointed. @oliver_schafeld
The camera work is top notch! And the lack of a large audience makes the jokes land in a hilariously awkward way.

@GossiTheDog thank you so much for posting this. I had no idea and I can't wait to watch!

Lifetime fan of Letterman, and never thought that anybody could fill his shoes. Colbert did an admirable job.

@arisummerland It gets funnier as the hour goes on. That sandwich!

@Axomamma

RIGHT? And ewwwww!

No spitting!

@arisummerland Yeah, when he rinsed and spit, my first thought was "okay, who's going to clean THAT up."

Poor guy is used to having "staff"!

@Axomamma I can't believe they let him and Jeff rip the set apart and burn it. What was that all about?! 😆
@arisummerland He said they weren't going to use it anymore. Maybe Colbert donated a sufficient amount for an upgrade. It does seem a shame to burn things that could be repurposed.
@GossiTheDog jack white and jack black should have a faceoff.
@GossiTheDog Stephen should just travel the country doing community access tv.
@GossiTheDog
That was a fun hour.
@GossiTheDog Ah perfect! Through this link, I found his youtube channel :) back in the day, you needed a tv channel for that
@GossiTheDog Glad I watched.. been wanting to do a ham fest lately, and found out there's one coming up in Monroe on June 21.

@GossiTheDog

There is something wonderfully lo-fi about this 😁 More comedians should ditch their budgets.

@GossiTheDog This is a million times better than the original.
@GossiTheDog I really love how low key this is. This reminds me some of COVID time episodes. Some people say he needs audience to react to. Not sure, I was rolling in few minutes 🤣
@GossiTheDog Colbert off the chain and Jack White is the most hilarious thing I've seen in ages... Chefs kiss.. no notes. For me, was actually heaps funnier than the late show :0)
Thanks for that.
@GossiTheDog
Would honestly watch this every night...
@GossiTheDog I thought Genevieve had the best line of the night. He could keep doing this and I'd keep watching.
@GossiTheDog @JonChevreau The lack of audience laughs means Colbert has to hold a lot more -- and he is at the top of his game here, blending relation, improv and line delivery. I reckon the advertisers on the show are taking care of MCM. Bravo! Our dog was very concerned about all our laughing.
