Right… So, the #Proxmox is running nice. I have found a spare 2T hard drive (2,5”, 5400rpm, unfortunately), but it will have to do for now.

Now I need to plan on how to migrate #HomeAssistant to a #HAOS VM. I have tested backup import and most of my things were surprisingly there. I’m reluctantly thinking about moving the #Zigbee dongle, but… Not sure how it’s gonna go with #HomeKit integration. I have easy over 80 devices…🤡

I still need some kind of redundand storage…

#SmartHome #HomeIT

@ssamulczyk Moving HA from Raspy 4 to Proxmox VM worked like a charm. Zigbee network worked as before. No issues. But no experience with Homekit.
@HumanizeMobility I assume it’s going to be a new pairing of the bridge and I will have to painstakingly configure all the devices one by one - assign the room, dashboards, etc. Good I have virtually nothing else going on in there…🥹

@ssamulczyk I remember that the network and all devices was as before. I had to repair some connections (or all?). But names, rooms, automation stayed as they were. But it is some month ago already since I did that.

I was afraid of doing it and surprised how easy it is afterwards.

@HumanizeMobility Oh, no… I know Home Assistant is going to be mostly fine with Zigbee. I have imported a backup without switching the radio and it was all there.

I’m not looking forward to connecting all the stuff back to HomeKit via the bridge that HA is providing. It does go one by one and you have to manually point it to a room and configure if it shows up in summary like you have just bought a new device…

@ssamulczyk Oh, well, good luck then.

@HumanizeMobility Well, I have just done the switch!

All the settings are there, Zigbee devices went straight after the reconnected dongle.

The only issue I had was some Matter devices, but that's because I use Apple TV as a border router for Thread.

Took mi around 20 minutes to migrate to HAOS...😎

@ssamulczyk Great! Good to hear!

@HumanizeMobility Oh! Also, didn’t have to repair all the items to HomeKit!

That is a big win. UniFi blabbered something about multicast storm, but HomeKit just picked it up where it has left.

It’s basically the same bridge.
