What could possibly be relevant about this 13-year-old movie in today's world? 🤔

@atpfm This has been sitting in my "watch later" queue for years...
@ianRobinson @atpfm Oh boy. That’s a long time in your queue. In the time you waited, they invented the sci-fi technology in the film!

@pl @atpfm Aces. That’s a win for my procrastination then. It's even more relevant today.

@pl @atpfm Just confirmed. I bought it on the Apple Store. Probably when it was on sale. I haven't watched it yet.

@atpfm great timing! I just re-watched it yesterday. Looking forward to listening to what you have to say about it.
@atpfm this is one of my all-time favorite movies, you better not annoy me 😆

@atpfm Did you not remember that Her stood for: Horny Electronic RomCom? 😂

Great episode, justice done!

@atpfm great listen. I’m with @siracusa please do not use ChatGPT for therapy.
@atpfm My only minor correction: “Journey” was not published by Annapurna in the timeframe of Her (2013)'s release; they did publish the Windows and iOS ports in 2019, but in 2012 “Journey” was developed by Thatgamecompany and published directly by Sony Computer Entertainment exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
@stillmoms I was going to use Edith Finch as my example, but I think Journey was mentioned, so I went with that.

@atpfm I think you guys missed the mark. It’s precisely because computers in the future are good at writing letters that Phoenix’s character is hired to write them. His letters are valued *because* they are written by a human.

Also, the movie didn’t get a lot right by accident. The issues it addresses were already “in the air” in the early 2010s.

@atpfm the game in the movie was created by David O’Reilly, who went on to create ‘mountain’ and ‘everything’. https://www.davidoreilly.com
