Palestine, protest and free speech: The real crisis behind the Royal Commission

The Royal Commission on antisemitism is rapidly becoming a mechanism to police dissent, shield Israel from criticism, and redefine the limits of political speech in Australia.

New Politics

@AMonkeyInSilk if you're protesting Jews and you're not in Israel or Gaza then the crisis is you denying citizens equal representations.

No family in your country murdered a child in Gaza. Why can't you make your international concerns known without harassing Jews?

All you do is look like a bully. Free speech isn't targeting a person for their heritage or dna either.

@justicesandwich
I agree that protesting, harassing or threatening Jewish people (or any people) is wrong.

What is also wrong is state terrorism, illegal occupation, genocide, torture etc. These are things which Israel is reliably accused of. Speaking out against that is not antisemitism it is pro human rights.

Unfortunately the Israel and Zionist lobbyists are changing the narrative to make people believe that criticism of them is antisemitism or anti Jew. It is not.

It is an entirely consistent position to be pro Palestine, pro Jewish and pro human rights while being anti Israel and anti Zionist.

That is not bullying that is an ethical stance.
