I think this guy hoped that in some strange way this was going to give him and the Australians who wanted this #royalcommission a #witchhunt moment. While there is an ongoing investigation and criminal court proceedings there never was. After them you could have this but not at now. Now you have a watered down ho hum and because this was demanded now when it could have been done properly is now lost.

The Royal Commission on antisemitism is rapidly becoming a mechanism to police dissent, shield Israel from criticism, and redefine the limits of political speech in Australia.
