The largest civilian fleet to sail to Gaza since 2008 has been attacked. Over 450 participants - including 11 Australians - have been illegally abducted and detained by Israel. This is a kidnapping of civilians on a legally protected humanitarian mission. We demand their immediate release and we call this act what it is: a war crime. What’s happening Civilian aid ships and volunteers are being attacked and detained while carrying humanitarian supplies and trying to establish a people's corridor to allow for freedom of movement. Food and medical supplies are being blocked from reaching people in Gaza who are facing mass starvation. The forced seizure and detention of humanitarian volunteers is a grave violation of international law and must be treated as a war crime. Our demands — act now Immediate release of all flotilla participants The Australian Government must publicly condemn this kidnapping and treat it as a war crime. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong must demand the immediate release of all participants, their safe passage to Gaza and call for an independent international investigation. The Israeli Embassy must explain who authorised the attack and why unarmed humanitarians have been abducted and detained. End Australia's complicity in genocide.
