Windows is still needed to run some programs and is required by certain workplaces.
Facebook is usually necessary to connect with family members who are able to get used to other platforms (seniors).
I agree that you can get more privacy if you don't use these services, but you can also get quite a lot of privacy if you live in a remote cabin in the woods.
