Last year I found a bunch of interesting looking DPNs, which probably are antique.
Today I finally got around to measuring them - the later ones are about 2 mm, the thinner ones are 1.5 mm 😮
I decided to try the larger ones on my next sock project
They work great, even when they are a bit longer than I like my needles. Completely smooth, the sts just glide along.
"Officially" I'm working on a summer top.
Inofficially I love these socks so much, that I bing knit on it over the weekend and the first one is already finished.
And a tad too small. I used more sts than usual (because 2.0 mm needles instead of 2.25 mm needles) and I made more rounds on the foot.
But it's not enough.
Now I'll have to ask my daughter if she wants them ...

Seems like I'll need to buy another skein in that color way, it's just too pretty.
And I just realized the pretty German word "Ringelsocke" doesn't translate into English. 🧐

It's very squishy, adding a lot of extra layers. This is probably a good pattern stitch for places where extra layers are a good idea (hat, backside of mittens ...)

She dyes those skeins with different "base" colors and the bright rainbow as a centerpiece.
I used the grey version and it's absolutely stunning as well.
