My past 1.5 hour with client for her 2 hospital appointments have basically been spent in hallways/waiting rooms & reminding staff they can't come near me or my client without wearing a mask. I've had to remind my client that she doesn't need to thank me, multiple times for being vigilant about keeping her safe. Just because some folks are terminally ill - it doesn't mean anyone has the right to rob them of living out the rest of their lives, as safely as possible. She's still has 1/4 of bucket list to check off & I'm helping her make that happen.
Every one has the right to demand masking from health care staff. Don't let eugenics enablers convince you otherwise.

I've exhausted myself, multiple times, trying to teach importance of voluntary proactive masking to increase community public health safety - with BIPOC liberal types. I've explained to them how there's already systematic racism in medical field & that even privileged white folks are struggling to get help, once they develop #LongCovid & how they're even less likely to obtain help/support/treatments if they're eventually diagnosed/suffering from long covid disabilities & secondary illnesses from getting covid(especially more than once). I've explained how you get it via airborne & there's usually respiratory illness that follows BUT covid is a #vascular illness & can affect every organ, fuck up your bloodstream & damage your neurological functions too.
I don't know why many people are still OK playing Russian Roulette with their lives & other people's lives. I don't understand the lack of empathy, compassion or community care. I can't relate with that level of ignorance or selfishness.

i wish we had more people like you. I've been often too exhausted and unwell to fight apathetic and sometimes antagonistic healthcare workers over masks. Maybe should make a sign to hold up with my request.
I often wonder if these healthcare workers who won't mask, do they not wash their hands either? Not sterilize tools and beds after use? Why be in healthcare at all if they aren't willing to do the bare minimum to keep patients safe?
