Today (10 May 1980) is the birthday of #Oleksandr_Matsievskyi, a Hero of #Ukraine, who was shot by #Russian inhumans after saying "#Glory_to_Ukraine".
We must remember both the heroes of the past and those who have just now become symbols of the #Ukrainian people.
#Oleksandr_Matsievskyi is just such a hero. Staring into the eyes of his executioners, he did not kneel, did not beg for mercy, did not lower his eyes or raise his hands.
He bravely and proudly said: "#Glory_to_Ukraine".
His last words are a symbol of resistance and the fight for freedom. And the whole world learned about this feat only because the enemy himself filmed his crime and #Oleksandr's heroism on video.
There are thousands of such warriors among #Ukrainians. It is precisely thanks to the courage, resilience, and self-sacrifice of soldiers that #Ukraine continues to fight and remains free.
Eternal memory to the hero.
