Noblesse oblige

Nobility obliges

While war rages in Iran, Europe is funding the war in Ukraine. I haven’t understood whether the 90 billion promised to Zelensky for this year have actually been disbursed or not.

Dear reader, for now, no, due to the veto from Slovakia and Hungary. Orbán claims that Ukraine has cut off the flow of Russian gas destined for Hungary to damage his election campaign. According to Kiev, instead, the pipeline was hit by the Russians (always self-destructive these Russians, they sabotaged the Nord Stream too). The fact is that the technicians sent by Orbán were not allowed to inspect the pipeline and no one is repairing it. Having said that, I doubt that Zelensky will soon see the promised money. Italy will shell out about 17 billion, twice as much as in the past. After all, as Meloni says, “I don’t care about public opinion, Kiev must be supported.” Speaking of which, the other day Kiev won an award as the third largest city in Europe for the number of sales of Bentley cars, the rivals of Rolls Royce in the luxury sector (1st Padova, 2nd Rotterdam). At the ceremony in Marbella, the Ukrainians asked that the slides relating to Kiev not be shown, for delicacy. How delicate these Ukrainians are. The price of a Bentley starts from $160,000, but with customizations it can exceed $400,000. You’ll say: but wasn’t Ukraine one of the poorest countries in Europe? Yes, but up to a certain point, would say Foreign Minister Tajani. One can’t expect those who are used to urinating in solid gold toilets to then come out of the house and rest their bottoms on a Chinese car costing 7,999 euros, what the devil! Noblesse oblige.

Baltic, drones in Estonia and Latvia: "Effects of the Russian aggression in Kyiv"

A Russian drone crashed in Estonian territory, hitting a chimney of the Auvere power plant, but without causing injuries or damage to the electrical infrastructure. Estonian Prosecutor General Astrid Asi explained that based on “current information,” the strike “was not directed” at the country and that initial investigations would clarify the specific circumstances. According to initial explanations, the incident occurred during drone clashes between Russians and Ukrainians in the Baltic Sea region. The Estonian government, however, held an emergency meeting to assess “the security incident.”

Shortly after the incident, another drone from Russian territory crashed in Latvia, although for Prime Minister Evika Silina it would be “probably a Ukrainian” device. The Estonian Air Force reported identifying “an unmanned aerial vehicle in the Latvian airspace originating from Russia” and that “rapid alarm systems detected a sound similar to an explosion” in the Kraslava region, bordering Belarus, a Moscow ally. The drone wreckage was recovered and no civilians were injured and the incident did not cause material damage. “These are the effects of Russia’s large-scale aggression war,” said the Director General of the Estonian Internal Security Service (ISS), Margo Palloson, adding that he feared “similar incidents occurring in the future.”
