#Oleksandr_Usyk defeated #Rico_Verhoeven in a hard-fought bout.
The fight took place in #Egypt near the pyramids of #Giza, where world heavyweight champion #Oleksandr_Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs), holder of the #WBC, #WBA, and #IBF titles, faced #Dutch kickboxer #Rico_Verhoeven (1-0).
#Verhoeven dominated for much of the fight, but in the 11th round #Usyk turned the tide and won by technical knockout.
He bravely and proudly said: "#Glory_to_Ukraine".
His last words are a symbol of resistance and the fight for freedom. And the whole world learned about this feat only because the enemy himself filmed his crime and #Oleksandr's heroism on video.
There are thousands of such warriors among #Ukrainians. It is precisely thanks to the courage, resilience, and self-sacrifice of soldiers that #Ukraine continues to fight and remains free.

🔹In 2014, #Oleksandr volunteered to fight against #Russian aggression in the #Donbas. Despite initial rejections due to his age, he joined a motorized infantry battalion, serving in hotspots like #Kryakivka, #Zolote, and #Novotoshkivka.
🔹On February 26, 2022, just one day after finishing a work shift, #Oleksandr enlisted in the Territorial Defence. Within hours, his unit was armed and deployed to block the #Kharkiv and #Sumy directions.

In 1986, #Oleksandr was at the epicenter of the #Chornobyl catastrophe; decades later, he took up arms to defend #Ukraine once again.
