The Extra Lite Bright sweater is all done, washed, and laid out to dry! And I'm already swatching for the next one, which will be the Calluna Pullover with this gorgeous yarn I got for my birthday in January.

Calluna has two different patterned stitches, and gauge is specified for both along with stockinette. I don't want to assume that just because I get gauge in stockinette, I will also get gauge in the pattern stitches - or is that actually a valid assumption?

@emery
Yes, you are wise to swatch in both stitches. Your gauge is likely to change between them.

That is lovely yarn and I look forward to seeing the final results!

@gardencat The question is really whether I need to swatch in stockinette as well as the two pattern stitches! There isn't any stockinette in the sweater, but the pattern does specify gauge for it. (I'm doing it anyway, just to be sure. But I feel like I'm making work for myself.)
@emery
Yes, if the gauge they specify is for stockinette then I'd do that. It will help you figure out what the pattern differences are.
It is a lovely pattern and should look great with that yarn.
@emery
On the Ravelry page it gives the gauge for the pattern stitches as well:
Gauge
30 sts/48 rows to 4”/10 cm in St st;
33 sts/48 rows to 4”/10 cm in Main
pattern stitch; 36 sts/48 rows to 4”/10
cm in Crossed pattern stitch. Measure
gauge on blocked swatch.
@gardencat I have the pattern so I have that information already, but thank you.
