NPD: Got the CTC Triptychon, which is an overdrive, a fuzz and a booster in one pedal, all individually switchable.

I first ran it into the Simplifier and was a little underwhelmed. But then I tried it in front of the Friedman IR-X, and that sounds so much better. There's tons of cool sounds in this thing, and the OD and boost work well with other pedals, too.

So this won't be my new all-in-one pedal for live as planned, but a sound tool for recording at home.

@ics Saw a video and thought "this would be an awesome Swiss Army knife for recording"
@samvarma
Yes, exactly. I don't know how "historically-correct-sounding" the four fuzz circuits are, but I very much like the range of sounds it produces. And it cleans up very nicely as well. Quite happy with it so far.
@ics I'm not a fuzz connoisseur at all, but I was like this does a bunch of sounds I recognize
@samvarma @ics Like both of you, I don't have any hands on experience with old germanium fuzzes, but will say that these guys (Crazy Tube Circuits) have a germanium fuzz, the Constellation, that like this thing has takes on the classic ones (Fuzz Face, various Tonebenders, plus a Rangemaster treble booster) and I _LOVE_ it. After decades of trying to make something I like come out of a bunch of Big Muff varietals, the Constellation finally got me a fuzz sound that doesn't disappear in a band.

Nice. Yes, a Muff only works for me when boosted by a Tubescreamer, and even then I find them difficult. I found one Muff in a shop that sounded amazing played through a tiny Friedman combo they had, exactly the growling sound I was looking for. Sadly I bought the fuzz, not the amp. Never managed to get that sound again.
