…The deaths so alarmed #Idaho legislators that last week they took the unusual step of voting to restore funding for the program, known as assertive community treatment, or #ACT.

…They cited the 4 deaths, but also laid out a financial argument — that stripping services for severely mentally ill people will simply reroute them toward jails or emergency hospitalizations, which #cost the state far more.

Sadly this started out as a planfrom the Right Wing Savior Ronald Reagan. He closed the Institutions for community based care then started reducing the funding for them till they could no longer do their jobs.

This is also the birth of the Homeless problem in California and around the Nation. The GOP has repeatedly taken functional programs and cut them till this is what we get. . .

Just as they've done with Medicaid with the Big Beautiful Bill. Just guess how that will turn out.
