I live above the 60th parallel so I get to watch the glaciers melt away. I've been watching Climate Change for 40 years as it happens. With permafrost melting things are getting exciting quickly

I'm slightly older than Igneous Rock.

We had an economy in the 50's, 60's & 70's that was far better than what we have today and were headed in the Right (Left) direction. We need it back. . . Both the Mamdani platform & Biden/Harris are the same as we had in that WWII - 1970's.

As always; Peace!

Well… that is a first. In yesterday’s parliamentary elections in Denmark, painter and provocateur Kristian von Hornsleth tried to bribe voters into voting for the Enhedslisten party.

On his Instagram account he offered artworks for votes if voters photographed their vote, proving that they had indeed voted for Enhedslisten.

Obviously, this is a violation of the Danish penal code and punishable by up to 2 years in prison.

Yesterday, Hornsleth was arrested and charged by Copenhagen Police.

I joined this site 8-10 months ago, it was after another site & wanted a little more information than I was willing to give or thought they had a right to. I joined thinking I find a group of smart people who seemed as intent in getting rid of the GOP and trump as I was.

I guess I was wrong, there just doesn't seem to be that strong a conviction so this is what I see.

Best expressed by a song from the 60's.

49 states have 'at will employment' meaning unless you have a union, which is ~not~ 90% of us, we can be fired just for saying we're sick. (yeah, it's wrongful firing - sure sue them. Tell me how rent gets paid while paying for a lawyer?)

The struggle isn't even to explain sick leave is a terrible racket, half (at least) of the US labor force doesn't even have sick leave or use it if we do!

It's been a few years since I drew this. I still stand by it.

We are at a cross road, we can give up our freedom or keep it. If we keep it what do we want it to be? I want to see it go back to many of the ideals of the 60's.

Education, equal pay, Civil Rights for those who have never had them. Privacy honored, Children cared for, all the people fed, housed with medical care available, Income for those who are loosing jobs to technology & change. Climate action & consideration for nature, solar/wind . . there are others .

Question. The post office was established by congressional law. I gather for the transport of information and property. There is a fine if other than the recipient opens it, or it's lost mail. That is communications plain and simple. Well we communicate over the internet now. We built it, We pay for it. It's even called E-Mail. It is also communications, how does the government or any private corporation think they can open our mail with out some legitimate purpose requiring judicial over sight?
