Knut 🏳️🌈 🇳🇴🧸@grrlscientist In some states they can't. Like I'm from Wyoming, which requires you to declare a party affiliation. And they have no way of knowing that. What's weird though is "voter fraud panicked" states like Texas (where I currently live...if you can call it that) does not.
Marcos Dione@praetor @grrlscientist I assume they cannot catch yo lying (as in, checking what you voted), so would there be any downside for doing so ("I'm republican! [quietly votes Dem]")? It could even break all the gerrymandering...
Cassandrich@mdione @praetor @grrlscientist Declaring party affiliation is not declaring who you intend to vote for but which party's primaries you're entitled to vote in.
moonwife@mdione @dalias @praetor @grrlscientist a *lot* of left-leaning people in conservative areas have already done this for decades (presumably vice-versa as well but i’m not chatting with conservatives so idk), since often the only competitive race is the primary.
