It’s time for “Will Cudjo be effective in this system?”, an occasional check on if my favorite character from a pirate film can be effective in a fantasy RPG.

Draw Steel : Passes the test very well. You end up building him as an outlaw tactician. Game doesn’t punish throwing daggers as such, so it’s a viable option, and while we are not an all out rogue, we have all the right skills to be an acrobatic performer. Well done, Draw Steel!

Daggerheart

It’s a close miss. While there is a magic throwing blade available, the rules overall kinda just pretend throwing weapons don’t really exist. While backgrounds exist and cover the skill end well, the ability distribution is a little lighter than I would really like. Also, the sneaky type of class is a spellcaster, which isn’t the right fit.

You can do it, but it is not the same fantasy. Sorry #daggerheart

I should work on other games late, but this is all I had time for today.

Remember, as long as you are having fun, it doesn’t matter how ‘bad’ your character is. Just laugh it off like Cudjo would, and have fun!
