It seems that state-backed NEST (the UK's largest workplace pension scheme) is already over 18% invested in US private equity (at a time when many other investors are divesting such holdings) and looks to be expanding that exposure to 30% of its portfolio by 2030.

So while Rachel Reeves is claiming we all need to be investing more in UK shares, it turns out the Govt. backed pension provider is doing exactly the opposite.

Time to put your own house in order Rachel!

@ChrisMayLA6 Thanks for the tip. I have a tiny workplace pension in NEST. Will write.
@ChrisMayLA6 I was pricing up and evaluating so-called Robo-traded ISA investment savings accounts a few months back. It is very, very hard to limit your exposure to the US ecomomy in this way, as most provider portfolios consider US equity market (public or private) a feature, not a bug!!
@ChrisMayLA6
I'm not sure how much control she has over them.

@Naich

Well, that's a good point, but equally she should be able to pushing them away form this stagey, if she really wanted to
