When were you first interested in writing sci-fi? And what was your first sci fi story?
Orion (he/him)@sifaseven I was first interested when I was a little kid. My dad was and is a sci-fi guy. I watched Star Trek with him, not knowing that he was watching with a certain level of irony, too, but also a deep love.
My *first* SF story would be when I was a kid. I had this elaborate idea, never executed, about a planet with two continents, one magic and on sci-fi. When they discover each other, a war starts. That's as far as I got.
@sifaseven As an adult, probably the first SF I wrote was a story about a group of human soldiers raiding an alien ship, and then the most beautiful music they've ever heard plays, but it leads them into a kill box. Jump to a pair of aliens going, "They keep falling for these random series of tones I get the computer to generate. We're going to take this planet in a month."
