Every day, I do more work than I get paid for, using electricity without which I could not do that ‘work’.
Given where we are, and where I am, I’m not anti-electrification.
I’m anti over-simplifying our friends electric

…The focus is clearly on creating a “coalition of the willing” to align finance somewhat with thermodynamic reality.
That’s much needed.
I’ll be paying close attention to how the Conference delegates articulate themselves.
I hope they can temper their rhetoric with realism and a minimum of hyperbole

@urlyman Thorium Molten Salt Reactors, like China is having continued success with, provides high industrial level heat that's conducive to EV production. #TMSR also lends itself to #desalination, #SodiumIon batteries, #hydrogen and #ammonia production, medical isotopes, and even localized air conditioning because of high heat production in #MSR.
China's #BeltAndRoadInitiative is far more sustainable than most of the West's profit mongering.
@CountHoldem we’ll find out, I guess.
Once the true cost of what’s already done starts to become more tangible
@CountHoldem @urlyman Perhaps one of the greatest crimes against humanity, was the suppression of Thorium reactors in favor of fossil fuels laden, armament build out during The Cold War. Pursuing uranium was a far shorter route for Western Capitalism profit, toward nuclear warheads and further abuses of power.
The continued development of TMSR tech would've eventually eclipsed where China is now, and the inevitable worldwide distribution following - if the US was far less greed driven - would probably be reaching peak performance by now.
This is an egregious breach of ethics, and despicable behavior, at any scale.
