Agencies like the forest service are established in laws passed by Congress. The president is bound by the constitution and by oath to see that the laws are faithfully executed. So yes, this is very illegal.

@connynasch I am really hoping when this gets out into the alternative press that people will mobilise and literally bury the politicians in emails faxes and phone calls. This adminstration is lawless and corrupt from the very top on down and the supposed lawmakers in Congress are complicit in ALLOWING and ENABLING these types of ridiculous acts to stand without challenge. I read the article, and knowing what we know about the trump admin's modus operandi (not to mention the goals of 'conservatives' over the past 50 years), it seems to be stating things rather appropriately.

As opposed to a usa today article that is literally more ad than info, PLEASE be more skeptical of *anything* this administration does, especially in regard to federal institutions that are designed to be primarily for the public good and not for power or profit (in theory).👇
