Agencies like the forest service are established in laws passed by Congress. The president is bound by the constitution and by oath to see that the laws are faithfully executed. So yes, this is very illegal.

@connynasch I am really hoping when this gets out into the alternative press that people will mobilise and literally bury the politicians in emails faxes and phone calls. This adminstration is lawless and corrupt from the very top on down and the supposed lawmakers in Congress are complicit in ALLOWING and ENABLING these types of ridiculous acts to stand without challenge. Not just no but HELL NO. We need the forests protected.
