Cyclists (aka people who cycle)! I want to make a cheat sheet of cycling hashtags in various languages of Mastodon to help folks find cycling folks & topics here.

Can you add any to these? (And define use for those that need that)

English:

#BikeTooter
#Cycling
#BikeNite (weekly [a]synchronous chat on community-submitted questions)
#Recumbent
#CarryShitOlympics (showing your cargo loading prowess)

German:
#FrostPendeln (winter commute)

Dutch:
#Regel17 (recumbents need photos)

@meganL

English
#obob - old bags on bikes
#CM & #CriticalMass
(form of direct action in which people travel as a group on bicycles at a set location and time; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_Mass_(cycling))

German
#mdRddG & #rausgeschafft (just going for a ride)
#mdRzA (bike commute to work)
#mdRnH (bike commute home)

[Edit: + closing parenthesis]

@meganL

There are also a number of cycling/ safety/ accident related hashtags in German. Don't have the time to list them all now, might make a list later if I remember.

@meganL

Okay, I made a list of bike-related hashtags.
With translations and some short explanations (for most entries).

A word of warning: the toots using #'s from the bottom of that list ("category: conflict") can contain a lot of frustration and aggression.

Maybe we should also tag in bike-related groups such as @fedibiker
or
@fedibikes

And … sorry, no AltTxt yet, I need a break first. 😬

<Edit:>
Just the hashtags in AltTxt now due to character limit.
</Edit>

#BikeTooter
#Cycling

@meganL

I tried to add AltTxt but it's more than 2`400 chars too long. If you need/ want a transcript please ask (really), and we'll figure something out, okay?
