#Mukyōhō continues by stripping experience back to what is immediate & undeniable. In sitting, walking, or daily activity, attention rests on what is present without adding story. Thoughts are not rejected, yet they are not followed. Sensations are not judged, yet they are not clung to. This steady observation reveals a simple pattern: everything changes, & tension arises when the #mind tries to hold or resist that change. (1/7)
Over time, this becomes deeply practical. Instead of reacting automatically, there is a pause in which experience is seen clearly. In that clarity, the usual push & pull of craving weakens. One does not need to adopt a belief system or accept an authority. The teaching proves itself through repeated observation, like learning the behaviour of fire by feeling its heat rather than reading about it. (2/7)
Within #Mukyōhō, #nudity is not symbolic or rebellious, but functional. Clothing carries layers of identity, status, modesty, & social conditioning. By removing it, one encounters experience with fewer filters. The #body is simply the #body, not an object of comparison or concealment. This supports the direct seeing that #Mukyōhō emphasises. (3/7)
#Nudity also reveals subtle forms of grasping. Discomfort, self-consciousness, pride, or judgement may arise. Instead of avoiding these, they are observed just like any other #mental activity. In this way, #nudity becomes part of the practice, exposing patterns that are usually hidden beneath habit & convention. (4/7)
There is also a return to simplicity. Without adornment, there is less distraction, less division between oneself & the #natural #environment. Skin meets air, sunlight, & water directly. This immediacy strengthens #awareness of #impermanence, as sensations shift moment by moment without obstruction. (5/7)
Importantly, this practice is #NonSexual. It is not about display or stimulation, but about removing unnecessary layers so experience can be seen clearly. In #Mukyōhō, the #body is neither elevated nor rejected. It is simply included in observation, equal to thoughts, sounds, & sensations. (6/7)
Through this integration, the teaching becomes continuous. Whether clothed or unclothed, sitting or moving, the same principle applies: observe, see change, understand craving, & allow it to end. #Nudity is one of many skilful means, used not as a rule, but as a way of deepening direct experience & reducing the distance between #awareness & #reality.
