Patrick@BalooUriza @mattblaze come on now, who had a higher opinion of FIFA before this? FIFA sucking up to fascist dictators dates back to Italy '34, and features an all-star lineup featuring Videla, Mussolini, Putin, MBS and the emir of Qatar.
The best we can hope for is that they continue to award the prize to Netanyahu, Putin, MBS or Kim Jong Un.

The good news for the day - there may be a pause in the fighting for a couple of weeks. I'm hoping that "something revolutionarily wonderful" occurs (to quote Trump out of context): like invoking the 25th Amendment or an impeachment.

@mattblaze don't think it ever was… you might have missed the perennial war rhetoric whenever there's an England-Germany match, football has been a replacement for warfare in Europe for quite some time. There was never any "peace" in FIFA-run competitions.
