Innovative of the Starfleet Academy showrunners to set a Star Trek show in a writer's room from the mid-2020s.
Wow. Twice in Apple support documents, I've found "macOS" used as a count noun:
"Each macOS includes the latest built-in apps…"
"… You might get the macOS that you were using before upgrading."
I can't find it prohibited in the Apple Style Guide, but never before in Apple's history have I noted an official document or speaker doing this with an OS's name.
Disagreeing, expanding on supporting points, reading to learn about other perspectives, responding if you've considered them, taking note if you haven't? I suppose some people think "ideal" social media sidesteps all that, but I've always considered it healthy, and a form of kindness, to the extent it's genuine.
Even on Mastodon, I suppose, where there's plenty of positivity and talent, people evince a state of humanity that struggles to believe varying outlooks could be genuine.
Heck, I've been on Mastodon for almost four years.
I found occasional good conversation on Twitter, but showing and assuming bad faith became common, to the point of feeling sort of baked into the culture.
Mastodon has seemed "friendly," and there's been occasional conversation here too, but "oh, there's disagreement? Better find a way to smile and wrap this up" seems common here. That sort of feels baked into this culture.
