Many things flying in the garden on this warm & sunny April afternoon 🌞

Including lots of these dock bugs (Coreus marginatus; 🇩🇪 Saumwanze, among many names), which flash their otherwise hidden bright red wings when buzzing around.

This one wears its red more prominently, also in both its Latin & German names.

This a hypericum rhopalid (Rhopalus subrufus; 🇩🇪 Rötliche Glasflügelwanze). Very fidgety – didn't want to pose at all.

And finally for now, the great slapstick comedian of the garden, the varied carpet beetle (Anthrenus verbasci; 🇩🇪 Museumskäfer or Wollkrautblütenkäfer).

This little fellow must've been drunk on the pollen & nectar that's now available. It flipped on its back spontaneously, & when I helped it up, it flew to the edge of the tulip & then fell off 😬
