Then why the fuck are you pushing this bullshit on everyone? 🤡

Copilot - Terms of Use

Microsoft Copilot
@nixCraft Because they've 'invested' billions of dollars of the stockholders' money, and Microsoft has to show a return for that investment. Nothing else matters to the company. We are second, even third, last in its considerations.
@archivescribe @nixCraft correct, legally speaking Microsoft’s primary duty is to the shareholders, by law

@archivescribe @nixCraft this is how all companies operate, their duty is to the shareholders not the customers

Microsoft is pretty sure most people won’t stop using Windows, and they’re probably right sadly 🫩

@nixCraft do not taunt Copilot
@nixCraft Enterprise customers would question why they're paying through the teeth for "Entertainment Purposes Only."

@nixCraft Take, more than give.

Yours,
Capitalism

@nixCraft because... billions! Everyone and his dog love billions, right?
@nixCraft Got to give them credit for Terms of Use, that are actually readable
@nixCraft because they are scraping your data. Learning about who you are via every ham handed prompt and query you enter into the box.
SNL - "Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball."

YouTube

@nixCraft

Because they’re using Claude internally for everything.

I mean haven’t you noticed the huge bump in quality /s

@nixCraft if it's for entertainment purposes only, it's NSFW then

@nixCraft ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED???

IS THIS NOT WHY YOU ARE HERE

/ref

@nixCraft looks like artificial intelligence is more like human intelligence than we thought or like!

@nixCraft I was curious to see whether I could see this terms of use on the Copilot installed on my work device. It seems like no -- the "entertainment use only" warning is with Microsoft Copilot, which is the free personal use version. Whereas the paid M365 Copilot (for business) doesn't come with the same disclaimer.

@PapyrusBrigade That's a shame. I was going to look it up too, to send it to our IT people, who happily keep pushing it - at a university, no less. You'd think we value knowledge and know a thing or two about the acquisition of good knowledge...
Also: How can they not mention it in the 365 version? It turns out equally crappy slop, especially when used by untrained employees.
@kmmich Yes, I was thinking the same. On both points.
