@rineke
What are those. Are they some types of plants?
@nuwagaba2 yes a perennial. It can be eaten like spinach. My favorite plant in the garden.
@rineke
I have never come across such a plant all.my years of gardening but am curious to learn more about it. Can that plant grow well in tropical climates or equatorial climates of Uganda?
@nuwagaba2 I would not know. It is also known as caucasian spinach, and it is native to quite cold places, such as Sweden and Finland. I live in Denmark, not very hot here either. Maybe check Plants for a Future (pfaf.org)?
@rineke
Great, thanks for the knowledge. Can I share with you about my project?
@nuwagaba2 yes please do. Interesting to see what you grow in a tropical climate.
@rineke
It's about fighting hunger in my community, I work with 12 young volunteer farmers to make this a reality by growing food for the needy, educate local farmers with advanced agricultural skills to help them improve on their production as well equip beginner farmers with required tools like seeds , fertilisers and organic pestcides to help them produce the best out of their gardens as well combat climate change through tree planting. Would you like some updates about it?
@nuwagaba2 yes what crops do you grow?
@rineke
We grow bananas, cassava, potatoes, maize and beans as food crops. We grow vegetables such as sukuma wick, cabbages, spinach, Chinese cabbages, broccoli . All these are aimed at filling the empty stomachs of vulnerable individuals in our community .

Our initiative is currently under a crisis where we have been forced to evacuate the land we have been renting to do all our activities. We're doing our best to raise funds and buy our own land via via gofund.me
