Yesterday my sister presents me with a 2020 MacBook Air she was gifted. It was slow and not working properly, so how did I fix it? I put #Linux on it of course!

Fedora Asahi Remix to be precise. It was a bit of a faff on the M1; I had to nuke a 153GB ghost user account just to make room for a firmware update before I could even shrink the partition. It's now a KDE Plasma 6 machine with OnlyOffice for her coursework. Proper FOSS liberation for Apple hardware.

Why use OnlyOffice? Why not use #LibreOffice? Or the office suite of #KDE, #Calligra?

@Archie1 My sister isn’t very technical, so I went with OnlyOffice because it has the best Microsoft Office compatibility out there. She needs to work with Word and Excel files without hassle. I personally use LibreOffice and it’s great, but the occasional quirks with docx/xlsx formats aren’t something I want her to bother me about, I don't need phone calls about shifting margins or broken fonts 😂
