my local curry place makes you select if you are indian or american when ordering online

i explained i am british and that this should warrant inclusion in the drop down

@SecureOwl

surprised they don't have options for northern vs southern indian. :)

@SecureOwl @nomdeb Oh dear.

I’ve seen many places ask how spicy one wants the food. I’ve never seen a restaurant ask about ethnicity.

@michaelgemar @SecureOwl LOL. My husband reminded me of the time the waiter asked me how spicy, and I said I was from India (with - according to my husband - an attitude) and the chef took that as a personal challenge. ;) ;) ;) The food was the hottest I have ever eaten. And I grew "lethal" chilies for several years. :)
@nomdeb @SecureOwl One of my favourite Thai places lets you order spice level between one chile and 20 chiles. I like hot food, but 5 is my limit.
@SecureOwl a local place has 4 options mild, medium, hot, & Indian hot

@SecureOwl

By "American" spice level, do they mean "Midwest" or "Southwest"? Because those spice tolerances are not the same.

@SecureOwl I see no ranch dressing so mild may be questionable.
@SecureOwl options should be "Indian" or "Outdian".
