U.S. President Donald Trump admitted on Sunday that his government sent weapons to Iranian opposition protesters in violent protests earlier this year in the hope of fomenting an uprising against the country's clerical establishment.

In this context, Trump told Fox News that, at one point, he ordered the shipment of weapons to protesters through the Kurdish-Iranian opposition in the west of the country.

## "A lot of weapons that we sent through the Kurds," the US president said in a decision that was ultimately unsuccessful.

I got so much shit when I said protests and riots in December/January were 2 completely different things.
The riots were organized, violent and destructive. Before January 8, they killed 100s of police and security forces who didn't use weapons again those attacking them, even when they lynched them and hung them from the light poles and bridges.

The behavior of the rioters was like ISIS type of violence I've never seen before.
Jan 8, they destroyed multiple police stations, mosques, religious places and homes of people working for the government and IRGC anti riot police with right to shoot and it got really bad on Jan. 9 with 1000+ people, 100s of police and some 400 rioters killed.
