@catsalad cat is attracted by movement, but I think there is a attempt at imitation there for a few moments, which points to the idea that the cat is trying to figure out what the advantage is. I wouldn't go this far, but the idea is in the spectrum of "cat doesn't know it is not people".
Also, the cat is clearly recognizing that people hands and paws are functionally similar things.
I am really appreciating cats more as I get older and people capture more of these behaviors and post them.
