@adamsaidsomething No to the Guardian, because the Boer war is how the idea of the Anglo-American Empire was conceived in the first place.

The people who created the Anglo-American establishment or "empire" (Rothschild, Rhodes, Milner, Grey, Churchill, etc) wouldn't have done so had it not been for the Boer war, even though that idea didn't fully manifest itself until after WW2.
