@DeltaWye asks:

Q7. Is there a rule of thumb for #bicycles that don’t get used often where the tires should be changed out after so many years?

(What else should be changed periodically, based on time, regardless of usage?)

@DeltaWye @bikenite A7. Someone else wrote about storage, I've definitely seen a lot of rust on bikes stored outside even after a month or two.

Dry rot on tires is bad, there's a certain vintage of tires that dry rot faster than others. Yeah, so probably worth checking the tires, even if stored inside.

@ascentale @DeltaWye @bikenite I once tucked a Dutch Gazelle into a safe little place for summer.
Except somebody moved it out into the weather.
The summer's rains, etc...
Outside is NOT GOOD.
Its frame iscompromised in several places. SELF: Get it out of the garage and into the yard to have flowers and maybe tomatoes around ti.
@ascentale @DeltaWye @bikenite (When two sources tell you "yea, you can ride it home but ... the frame will fail... there are THREE PLACES...)
