@ai6yr asks:

I broke a chain for the first time, far from home! Luckily, the local bike shop was downhill. I coasted down & paid them to replace the chain (needed a spare anyway, took the old broken one home to add new links and re-wax). It appears I'm not packing all the tools I need.

Q4. What tools should I carry on all bike rides? (I usually carry a patch kit & small pump, but no chain tool nor master link) What else am I missing?!

#BikeNiteQ #BikeNite #BikeTooter cc @bikenite

@ascentale @ai6yr @bikenite #BikeNite A4. My on-bike toolit:

Wera stainless long handle hex wrenches (3, 4, 5, 6 mm)
Leatherman Wave (1st gen)
6" Crescent adjustable wrench
3 Kool-Stop tire levers
Rema Tip Top TT01 Tour patch kit
small zip ties for motor cable
nitrile gloves
USB-A to Lightning cable to charge my iPhone from the ebike
microfiber washcloth
Energizer L91 lithium AA for tail light
US quarter dollar coin for Aldi shopping carts

Need: chain tool, CO2 inflator/carts, mini pump

@gcvsa @ascentale @bikenite Oooh, nitrile gloves! (I have those in my first aid kid, but good point, useful for fixing greasy stuff)
@ai6yr Yes, I always double up on the gloves, because they can be used for either first aid or bicycle repairs.

@ascentale The adjustable wrench is only for removing the rear axle nuts. I'm planning on replacing it with an 18 mm shorty combination wrench.

I probably don't really need the Leatherman, but since I don't use it for anything else, anymore, it just lives in my bicycle toolbag.

I did just add a new Crane Suzu bell to my ebike, so that's the first thing on teh bike that actually needs a Phillips driver, which the Leatherman provides, and the Wave scissors can also be used to cut zip ties.

@ascentale Oh, I forgot one other thing I need to add: an 8 mm nutdriver, to remove my rear basket when I need to do that.

I do already own a Park mini chain tool, I just haven't put it in my on-bike toolkit.

@gcvsa @ascentale @ai6yr @bikenite some change as money is great.
A trolley key is an amazing buy.
