Had an excellent pedal this morning with my friend Rob, at the Santa Rosa Plateau. It was the second round of our Bike the Meadow program which is meant to use bicycles as a gateway to infecting people with a love of nature.

Mostly because the county has failed to advertise is in any way, no one showed up so we just pedaled together and talked.

If you live close enough to attend and want to ride bicycles with me and a guy who knows the names of every bird, plant, and creature that crawls upon the earth, its the first Saturday of every month at 9am. Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve.

Lots of UC biologists do research at the the Plateau; it is unique and special for many reasons, not least of which is as a link in the path of many creatures through the Santa Ana mountains. Trail cams and “connectivity research” typically mean: Cougar study.
@h2onolan ooh this is extremely cool and I was hoping it was the santa rosa by sf so I could join, but alas a bit too far for me to bike
@christa many are confused by the two Santa Rosas. Probably you need to do a bike program at your Santa Rosa on the first saturday of the month so we catch people wherever they show up :D

I was going to suggest you specify which state of which country but apparently even that wouldn’t be enough!

Which exit off 5?

Ah yes, geochauvinism stikes again! I often forget that the world is big and i know only a tiny corner of it. Apologies.

Both of the Santa Rosas referenced here are in California, USA. Hwy 101 follows the west coast of california from almost mexico to olympia, washington. The city of Santa Rosa is in north central california, sort of near San Francisco.

The Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological reserve is in western Riverside county, but is not a city. Some people live around it in palatial homes, as wealthy people are wont to do. From interstate 5 you would go east on either 91, 74, or 76 to I15, then exit In Murrieta heading west into the santa ana mountains

@h2onolan That sounds like a perfect ride to me!
