Professionally:

EDU infosec. terrified. send thoughts and or prayers.

Previously: Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). I know some stuff about how fresh water gets to your house, and how the poops escape.

Personally: read the toots.

i live on Payómkowishum land. What does it mean to acknowledge this? Where are the Payómkowishum? Is a relationship with them possible?

if i interact with you, its because i find you or what you post interesting, and want to be your friend. sometimes jokes dont land, or nuance is lost. we all deserve as much grace as can be given- at least until we are revealed to be monsters.

because SCE's billing system is so completely incomprehensible, they charge my end of year true-up in june. but there is no explanation of any of this on any bill. they basically pull the number out of their asses.

the worst part is they have engineered a $180/mo rent out of me despite over 50% of my daily energy being supplied by solar on average.

these mfers are who wrote the big bastardy bill.

i hate you, SCE.
Random: Y'all should check out @badsamurai. Not only is he a cool dude, he knows his shit, especially with automating the boring security things. And he shares his knowledge.

"It’s tempting to believe that there is some sort of intellectual barrier between you and the powerful — that the confusing and obtuse way that they speak is the sound of genius, rather than somebody who has learned a lot of smart-sounding words without ever learning what they mean."

Have you ever heard Sam Altman speak? I’m serious, have you ever heard this man say words from his mouth?  Here is but one of the trenchant insights from Sam Altman in his agonizing 37-minute-long podcast conversation with his brother Jack Altman from last week: “I think there will

dreamed i acquired a small station wagon of vaguely european style, but with a chrysler badge.
it had a plush royal blue velour interior and bianchi Celeste paint.

it was an automatic, but had a funny little floor shifter in case you wanted to do it that way.

Hundreds of veterans volunteer to attend asylum hearings with Afghans

The effort began after a former Afghan interpreter was detained after his San Diego asylum hearing this month.

today i read NIST SPECIAL PUBLICATION 1800-35. https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/SpecialPublications/NIST.SP.1800-35.pdf
Its about 40 pages of text, with lots of outbound links to references, appendices, and such. The authors built, described, and evaluated several reference architectures and deployment models. They discussed the foundations needed for each and some of the challenges each might introduce. I think it is a valuable work.

without venturing into an opinion on any of the example deployments, products involved, or zero trust generally- the remarkable thing here is that i read the whole damned thing. top to bottom, including linked references where appropriate. i took notes ffs.

that feels like an accomplishment all by itself.

As soon as I've heard the term "car sewer" I've not been able to forget it.
And the frequency illusion feeling is super strong afterwards too. (it's not an illusion in the US though)
