i chopped this Japanese maple whip back to a stub last fall, and it looks like it survived the winter. looking forward to seeing those buds push out.

@ignova Nice! My chops from the previous fall (I was going hands-off for a year + spring before doing anything else) died from the last throes of winter here.

@kevin sorry to hear about the deaths. i'm still mostly in that zone where i'm waiting to see what survived the winter. it's been a long one... it's technically good that most of my trees are still dormant, but it is a bit of a stressful time.
