I moved my main server from Scaleway to Hetzner. Can recommend, flawless.
Just for context, I only moved because #Scaleway discontinued my cheap server ($6/m?) I had with them for like 10+ years.
The change path to a current product ended up with a $30/m thing. I asked support, they told me I can’t migrate to a similar new product. I would have to set it up from scratch.
Which of course I did, elsewhere 🖖.
Scaleway, not a recommendation of mine anymore.
A mistake those companies often make is pissing off their “cheap” customers, not realizing that exactly those people are often the decision makers for larger deployments.

@helge I was actually going to ask what Scaleway did - thanks for being faster than I!

(I’m running an on-demand dev ox with them so I might have to have a look at those changes you mention.)

@heals They mailed me that they are discontinuing my product line and even provided a conversion flow (to the dev instances). But apparently the smallest type allowed by the conversion flow was dev-l or sth which is like $35/m.
@helge sounds about right I have a dev-m that I create and axe as-needed via a terraform script. It only costs me a few cent/month for the snapshot storage but ofc that’s not practical if you need an always-on server (which I do have at Hetzner for that very reason)!
