I just made a funny discovery with my Pathfinder AP interactive PDF map. The interactive feature allows you turn turn the grid squares on/of, as well as map labels. So if you have a mansion or a dungeon or whatever, you can share it with the players and they don't see how a room is labeled.

But hilariously, while that feature turns off the map labels, IT DOESN'T TURN OFF THE SECRET DOORS on the map. 😂

Glad you put all that work into that feature and it is useless...

@croyle yeah, all those extras are things paizo can do during production, but to have a version without secret doors basically requires commissioning a second map so doesn’t happen.

When I’ve run games VTT before I often edit maps myself to remove secret doors but I’m not that good so they are often damn obvious if they look at all closely.

@deinol I just verified that my older PF1E AP *does* turn off the secret doors when you turn map labels off.

It also has "player view" and "DM view" options on the maps, which are lacking from this never (2018ish?) AP.

You don't need to commission a 2nd map, you just need to put the secret door labels in the same layer as all the rest of the map labels. It should be a no-brainer.

@deinol I find that the bandaid tool in Photoshop *usually* makes very quick work of effectively removing things like those unwanted secret doors. It works even better with printed physical maps but I don't know how many people still use those. (I do on occasion.)
