Anyone out there that can recommend a good #XMPP / #Jabber client for #iOS that supports multiple accounts and is not Monal?
@heals
I have no idea, I don't have iOS.
But can I ask why not Monal?
@lascapi ofc. you can - I'm currently using Monal and it does have multi-account support but it's over-all messaging UI could use some serious work and it would also be nice to be able to see my contacts grouped by either account or custom sorting instead of having a list of 200 people (I'm running bridges on my XMPP server and the only client so far to allow me some order is Gajim on desktop).

@heals @lascapi wie are currently in the process of rewriting our chat ui from scratch using swiftUi (the old storyboard based ui is next to unmaintainable). Unfortunately this is a huge task and will take ~9 month.

The grouping idea should be fairly easy to accomplish, though. That part of the ui is already based on swiftUi.

And AFAIK typing the domain (part) of your bridge into the search bar of your contact list should already yield only contacts of that particular bridge :)

. @Monal thanks for the tip with the domain part - my Slidge bridges are all named exactly like the legacy network they got to (WhatsApp,Signal,Telgram,Matrix etc). Would be nice if a search like that could be saved as some form of “smart group” or similar..

Gajim on has the concept of a “workspace” which is really just a folder or Freeform group into which you can move any contact and it’ll stay there.
Super simple but it allows easy grouping.

P.S. yes I literally am running something like Beeper doesn’t on Matrix but via XMPP because there didn’t seem to be any fully working matrix-to-matrix puppeteering Bridge but there absolutely is one for xmpp-to-matrix

TTBOMK, @Monal is in the process of a complete UI rewrite. Maybe it will get better soon™.
Not an iOS user myself, I'm still looking forward to it, because some friends and colleagues are on #Monal.
