Just like many other social media corporations #Reddit is planning to require biometric / ID verification* of some users.

To get ahead of this, I have prepared an alternative for everyone :)

πŸŽ‰ ...and just launched our rapidly growing #DeMeta Reddit community on a journey into the #Fediverse!

People can now also DeMeta on #Lemmy:

@madeindex why not link to the relevant post in Reddit?

@madeindex sorry, I didn't follow the Lemmy link. My bad.

I like the idea, but honestly, I found Lemmy somewhat frustrating.

FYI, if you haven't already seen it:

FYI, on Lemmy putting a ! In front of a community name brings people who click on it to that community from their own instance, so they can easily subscribe, like this: [email protected]

@ProdigalFrog Haha thank you for the advice, so when I post on lemmy and mention the community i don't write c/DeMeta I write [email protected] ?

Or on Mastodon? [email protected] doesn't display as a clickable link right?

I was also confused why the message I wrote here about the community was suddenly showing up on lemmy in the community. Is that what happens when you use @...community.lemmy?
