Hmm, someone got a photo of the rescue helos being refuelled. Lucky the person with the camera also did not have a surface-to-air-missile, that seems pretty risky (they also would have the speed and heading of the helicopters, meaning if they dialed in a tip to Iran's armed forces, those helicopters are going to have one heck of a time getting in and out... especially if refueling is required for the operation).

FreddyB Aviation Photography@ai6yr It is hard to tell from the shot but I caught a HC-130J Combat King II like that with a Angry Kitten EW pod at Mugu last year and the choppers also have a pretty extensive countermeasure suite including flares (arrow pointing to them on the tail boom) as does the Combat King II

Larry Anderson 🕊️@ai6yr I hope we find the pilot before the Iranians do. I would not want to be a captured US pilot in a country where we are arguably committing war crimes by attacking civilian targets.
