I often wonder if #ActuallyAutistic folk are more vulnerable to childhood trauma due to how they interpret punishment.

So if a parent shouts at a neurotypical kid, its probably very upsetting and scary. But for a lot of ND kids, you can probably multiply that by a factor of 10. And I wonder if that makes us more vulnerable to being traumatised than others?

Obviously, the solution here is gentle(r) parenting styles, but none the less. #autism

I do think something like this. The Allistic kids have a response for it, they've been bred for that response, they get angry, "stronger," etc. I think only they have the response, I mean they get trauma too, but they have the response which helps repress that, and we don't. 💜

@QueerMatters @pathfinder We're definitely more prone to trauma. One support group I attended a few times broadly acknowledged that autistics with trauma is essentially a universal truth. This was stated by one of three therapists helping to organize the support group.
