I see replies suggesting this is US law.

But you can move outside the USA, that doesn't seem like a sincere excuse.

I seem to recall OpenBSD moved outside the USA to Canada due to their immoral laws.

There are many reasons not to be in the USA.

Saying it takes effort tells us how much you value your comfort vs human suffering.

Move where? Most countries in western hemisphere does the same. And moving isn't easy, it's not to be talked about lightly

As the other persons said, there are almost 200 countries on planet earth.

Many of them are not in, as I think you wanted to say "the west".

@rzeta0 @gnome Yes, but a lot of them are not viable to move to. That's the sad reality.
