I have an antique mantle clock, but it doesn’t run. Which is good because ticking drives me insane.

@sollat you are right! If I visited somewhere else and heard a clock ticking, I couldn’t stop listening to it and be annoyed. At home when I was young, MY clock ticking was soothing”. How to tell you have #ADHD without saying this.
