It was not well received by anyone. Even Nintendo Power's 78% (for the n64 version) was on the low side for them. I didn't know anyone who had "Bio Freaks" as a a kid, but I remember seeing it at the video store a lot.

@KronetHjort
Yeah the first few Medal of Honor games were legit good
I don't remember if the first one even had a multiplayer mode or not but the focus was absolutely on the campaign
First few CoDs were like that also before it veered away into live service land, never to return
IMO it birthed the "realistic" FPS genre
Scare quotes because obviously it's still a power fantasy where you have the upper hand
But you can't exactly go in guns blazing either
@KronetHjort
By multiplayer I meant PvP
I thought I remembered there being a split screen co op but looking at Wikipedia I seem to have remembered wrong
I do remember that Steven Spielberg convinced the Congressional Medal of Honor Society that this is supposed to be a serious homage and not trivializing it before it could ship
So because of that I'm honestly surprised it had a multiplayer death match mode
@KronetHjort
I'm thinking the guy leading the Medal of Honor society didn't know about the ability to play a death match between William Shakespeare and a Velociraptor before giving the game his blessing
I absolutely don't remember the PvP mode
But I think when this came out is when I just moved and didn't have any friends yet
So that's probably why
