Last night I played Capcom's "Rival School", a 3D fighter from 1998. I did one go through on default difficulty with Gan, I like the big guys. It was very much a late 90's Capcom fighter, which isn't a bad thing. Disc 2 is full of mini-games, including a dating sim. Had "Treehouse of Horror IX" on in the background for part of it as it premiered 3 days before the game's US release. I really wanna play again and git gud but there are better capcom fighters on psx.

Tonite's game was DreamFactory's "Tobal № 1" another 3D fighter. This one's from 96 & it shows. I won a tournament as the devil guy on normal in 30 minutes. Reminded me a lot of "Virtua Fighter" on the Saturn, on purpose I assume. The Gannon looking guy is so big he blocks the HUD. The dungeon crawling quest mode is cool but a lil much given the controller. There is a "Tobal № 2" that is better in nearly every way but it is a Japanese exclusive. Would've been better with 2 players.

As of right now I've been drawing them at random and trying to play at least a half an hour. I'm trying to do at least one a day but I'm sure I'll miss days, and play multiple titles on other days.

I also plan on stopping to play through a game if it's: a banger, already on my backlog, an all time favorite, or whatever. The point is to play games.

This morning I played Namco's "Point Blank" a 94 arcade light gun game that came to the psx in 98. This was not my first time playing it. It was okay but using a mouse as a light gun definitely took away from the overall package. It did not keep my attention, but I hear the sequels are better. Did not try the quest mode.

Played "Roll Away" last night. It was alright, not the perfect perspective puzzle game but still fun. The perspective shifting didn't give me motion sickness, which was surprising. It barely kept my attention for the entire half an hour, but was fine. My mom would've liked it back in the day.

You always hear about dudes who owned PlayStations but no games because they were good competitively priced CD players (or dvd/blu ray players for later generations), well "Roll Away" feels like a game made just for those guys.

Played "Bio Freaks" at pickup today, a Midway 3D fighter that skipped arcades. It was not good. You have a projectile so just spam that. Did a tournament on normal as Delta in a half an hour. Played on a 3.5" ips screen on a sunny day without my reading glasses, which did not improve the experience.

Played "Warhawk", a 95 flight sim, last night. This is an early longbox title with fmv cutscenes. The gameplay is rough but forgiving, no explosion if you bump something. Had some fun but "Rouge Squadron" this is not. It reviewed well at a time when there were only 2 dozen other games on the #psx
