You wot?

@neil Yeah, happened a couple of days ago.

Looks like used tinyminimicros are the play.

@neil "the $25 computer that now costs over ten times that"

"Raspberry pi: 10x edition"
@neil glad I got the kids the Raspberry Pis a few months back before the latest round of price rises.
@neil I searched to find the price and got a sponsored ad for this…
@synx508 £167 / unit. Bargain!
@neil Here's the ad. Quite the impulse buy.
@neil second hand NUC-like mini PCs on eBay are gonna start seeing a lot more sales methinks
@neil £25 to £150 increases amongst the 5 range is... Not fun. I am glad I don't want or need a new one any time in the foreseeable future.
@neil Is this finally time to sell by boxes of Raspberry Pis?
@tautology Or exchange them for a nice place in the country, or a Ferrari, perhaps.
@neil or ... with the current economical crisis ... a monthly shop from the supermarket.
@neil I guess this answers my question of Pi vs used NUC…. 🤷🏻🤦🏻‍♂️

@neil

Absolute joke. I can buy a real computer for that money!

@geerlingguy was saying what I was thinking on his latest episode.

@simonzerafa @neil @geerlingguy does your real computer need RAM or nah?
@neil what portion of that do we think is the RAM...
Robee? Na! 🌈 (@[email protected])

@RobeeShepherd @neil Ha, me too! Bought one last Oct for £117. Who'd have thought that a Raspberry Pi would give a better return than both my ISAs and pension 🤯
@neil I can now buy a perfectly serviceable MacBook Air for less than a barebones RasPi. We've come full circle.
@neil they need those money to hire more surveillance cops alright
@[email protected] Older models use older generation DDR RAM and are unaffected.
